The Duravanes will work but they are nowhere near as
durable as the FF. They don't take a bend/wrinkle/crease, whatever you
want to call, it like the Duravanes do.
A couple years ago I had 2 doz ACC setup... One doz w/ Duravanes and 1
doz with FF... The Duras shot good at 40, I was grouping them
inside a 20 yd single spot 5 ring, but the FF would be inside of them
EVERYTIME. I tested the two side by side for about a week and a half.
Didn't matter if I shot all 4 FF first, last, or every other arrow,
EVERYTIME they grouped inside the Duras. Brown

As a lifelong finger shooter, I have always shot
feathers as my preferred fletching until my local pro shop owner and I
had a friendly "debate" after which he challenged me to fletch a dozen
arrows with Flex fletch vanes. I took the challenge and am I glad I did.
My flight improved dramatically at long ranges of field and FITA. So
much so that I started taking 1st and 2nd instead of also ran. I have
converted several of my friends through my success as well. I have been
using the FFP 4.18 and FLP 400 up to now but am trying the 3.6 and 3.0
styles as we speak with great preliminary results. Testing has been
slowed somewhat by the onset of hunting season. All in all I am
confident that I will be using these for hunting in the near future.

Let me start by saying that I am not looking for a
handout in any way, shape, or form. But, I love what you guys have to
offer at Flex Fletch and always have. I discovered Flex Fletch about 9
years ago and REFUSE to shoot anything else. I have tried just about
EVERYTHING out there over that time and always come back to Flex
Fletch. You guys make the best vanes out so why look at others.
1 month or so ago I bought some of the new Flash vanes and have been
very impressed. You all did it again. I use the 187's for field and 3D
on my little arrows...225's and 310s or 360s on my Hippos and other
indoor arrows and the Flash and 360s for hunting. I have NEVER been
disappointed...not once. Thanks Flex-Fletch

Thought I would forward you a
couple of pic's of the two caribou I shot last week using the new
"Flash" vanes. I shot one at 40 and the other at 52 yards. Two
longest shots I have ever made on a game animal. The flash vane did
a great job stabilizing my fixed blade broadhead in the 20-30 MPH
winds. Thanks again form a
great product. Flex Fletch are the
best! Tony ZZZZ

Flex-Fletch vanes don't deteriorate like others
do! I moved from Hawaii to Arizona nearly 4 years ago and all my arrow
building supplies are now at least 8 years old. Hot shipping and storage
conditions no doubt were tough on my vanes, and all my other vanes on my
arrows and in packages are now breaking up and unusable. But NOT my
Flex-Fletch vanes. They are still just fine in their simple plastic
package and ready to be put on arrows! And most of my Flex-Fletch vanes
on arrows are fine too, and again shooting. All the OTHER arrows have to
be re-fletched. Thanks for a fine product. Aloha,

Thanks for making such outstanding vanes! I will not use any other type
again. Glad to see you have a
2" hunting
vane now as well. I have the flp 400's and the target 187's and love both. I'm
ordering a bunch of all three sizes tomorrow. Love the flexbond too!! Regards,

I am sorry, I have to disagree. Personally I didn't like the MiniFita's from
Vanetec. They do not hold up to wear as well as my FFP 187's did, I went exactly the route
you are thinking of, was trapped on some of the hype around here, my bad! Of course
they stick very well to the shafts, but I found them to "wrinkle" and keep the
bends -once taken- forever. I am back to FFP's, this time the 150's, with a little
helical, even if it was supposed -and confirmed- to be a pain to remove them from the
X10's (34 shafts!). It is a little bit more tedious to
fletch
FFP's -99% acetone once in the clamp and they stick as well as Vanetecs-, but well worth
on the long term (refletching on expensive shafts is a bad and painful idea, believe me)! Hope it helps and good luck!

Stick With Flex Fletch Why would you want to switch from
Flex Fletch? IMHO they are the best vane available. I
refuse to switch. They stand up to LOTS of abuse. |
|
Regardless, for outdoor competition to 90 meters, there is really only
one vane I recommend - the flex-fletch. Size is up to you, but I would use either the
1.87" shields, or the 1.5" parabolics. If you wanted to, you could probably use
a 2" parabolic with less offset. Any of those would work, and will be more durable
and last longer than any other vane available.
If you clean them well, and then use a quality vinyl wrap to glue them to, you will get
years worth of use out of them. I can never remember having to repair or replace a
flex-fletch vane, and that's after shooting
tens of
thousands of shots at 70 meters with ACE's and X10's.

Seriously, I have "target-tested" the
Flex fletch through soft spots in the haybale resulting in
pass-throughs, and the vanes survived intact other than some cosmetic marks. They also
survived shots into the grass @ 90m, when the spinwings would be crinkled beyond usability
or torn. Archerytalk.com-calbowdude /

But probably a tougher test of their durability is shooting them on a
single-spot NFAA or NAA face indoors at 18 meters, and I've done plenty of that. Last
indoor season, about 2/3 of my practice (for the upcoming NFAA Indoor nationals) was done
on a single spot NFAA face with ACE's and 2" flex-fletch vanes. They held up
beautifully, never having to replace a single vane even after more than a few 25-5x ends.
To me, that's pretty tough. Never, ever could have done that with Spin-wings or feathers.

The other vanes cannot compare, regardless of what they are called. The
true "DURA-vane" IMO is the flex-fletch. I've seen Duravanes mutilated by normal
use. The prep is a small price to pay considering the longevity. You literally may never
have to repair or re-fletch that arrow for the remainder of it's useful life.

I would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been
shooting a bow for 25 yr.'s and started using your vanes about 3 yr.'s ago and they have improved my grouping beyond my wildest dreams. The deer do not stand a chance. Advantage flex fletch.

P.S. my 3-D shoots have improved to the point
of pleasure. |

Flex Fletch vanes... the most
durable vane out there. I can bury an arrow into a bale way past the
fletch,
leave it there for 10-15 minutes, pull it out and the vane is rippled and bent all to
heck, and in 5 minutes it looks brand new. What other vane can do that?

I did receive a small Vanetec sample this week. They may be tough,
but they are also heavier as you mentioned. The 4-inch sample looks to be
almost a grain heavier than Duravanes and probably over one grain compared to the
Flex-Fletch 4 inch vanes I shoot. I'm not impressed with their colors either.
The yellow was good but the orange and green were not bright, similar to Duravanes.
I haven't had time to flight test them yet. Like I've said before, you guys have got
it figured out! Keep up the good work.

I've tried em all. And I do mean all. Pay the money and buy Flex-Fletch.
The extra time is nothing when you see the results. email flex-fletch and ask about their
durability 'stretch' test. saw it at a show and I switched on the spot. I'll never go
back. Oh yeah, one more thing, a 5" vane is overkill. I use the Flex Fletch 360. Oh
yeah, to make you a believer I'm sure they will send you a doz. if you ask. They stand
behind their vanes cuz they are the best. Check out they're flex-bond glue too, nothing
beats it. Shoulder Chip (forum) |

The 3 top recurve women in my club were using Spin
Wings and Kurly vanes (all conventional). All three have now gone to
Flex Fletch and the results are far more reliable. They are
grouping better and they stand up to punishment better. Erika has shot PB's at 70m since dumping spin wings and going fletch
flex. IMHO Spin Wing style vanes are the most overrated thing in archery history.

I had never tried your vanes before a month ago and I didn't think
there could be such a difference in vanes. I am astounded! Flex-Fletch vanes
are as tough as nails. I had been using the Blazers from Bohning but found they were
very inconsistent in length, height, and weight.
I
am now using your 360s and I have never had such consistency in my set-up.
They all weighed exactly the same!
The same with the length and height.
Thank you for making such a quality product.

Between my son and myself we have shot quite a few hogs this year and the
vanes other than getting cut off always look like new. Thanks!
Steve Young. |

I can't tell the difference in groups between my spin wings and
flex-fletch vanes at 70 meters. I switched to FF because I saw no difference in
performance, and I had MUCH less maintenance to do.

The FLP400 vanes work great in four-fletch
on my Blackhawk V-Maxx arrows with big fixed-blade broadheads. Before the snow hit the
other day I was shooting them out to 40yds with great groups. Thanks!

My name is Korey Nolan and I have been
shooting your products at NAA competitions for more than two years. I use your 187 vanes
on my Easton X-10 arrows and even on my 2312's for indoors. I love how durable they are
and their low profile gives me optimum performance in the wind. Recently I have made the
Junior U.S. Archery Team for 2005 using your vanes. Your product was suggested to me by my
coach, Terry Wunderle, who swears by your products for great reasons.

"I wanted to share
what I believe to be a once in a lifetime happening. I've won two silver NFAA bowls, eight
state championships, two mid Atlantic regionals and placed second at Atlantic city twice
using your vanes, I love em', But this tops it. Boy did I get a tight group. I shot a
double robin hood at 40 yards and, I'm a FINGER SHOOTER!!! I
was using PSE comp. pro shafts with your FFP 310. This combo shoots better than anything I
have ever used. Congrats on a great product. The set up advice you gave me seems to be
really working great. I'll be a customer for a long time."

"Hello, I would like to thank you for making
such a great vane that is easy to apply and very very durable. I have been shooting for 5
years and I have been using flex-fletch the whole time. I have had great luck with your
product and I just wanted to say thanks. So... thanks for making such a great vane for the
money and keep up the great work."

"None
of our Business but a suggestion for you. I imagine that the vane business is very
competitive these days with all the fast set adhesive-type vanes. They save time and
money. Your vanes are the best vanes made, you know it, most archery shops know
it. The shops often don't build arrows for their customers with your vanes because of
the time factor. I'm even guilty when I rushed to use xxxxx. What I think
you need to do is convince the Bowhunters somehow directly to ask for Flex-Fletch
vanes. Here's the key. Your vanes are the most quiet vane (in flight)
built. We frequently test different vanes by shooting past our pro-staff standing
safely
behind a wall at a variety of distances. Flex-Fletch
is the most quiet. It's not even close. The Axxxxx are "buzzing"
loudly. These comments are sincere and I hope it might help you."

"Hi
Flex-Fletch I'm your customer from Singapore. I've been shooting for about 5 years now.
During my 1st two years shooting I've used Flex-fletch 187 vanes after seeing Dave Cousins
using it. But due to my dealers' psyche on changing to other vanes, I was mentally
derailed to changing to the A** vanes. After some time I found that their vanes are too
soft and changes shape, while some torn, after shooting through the target then did I
realized that I was compensating the time of fletching the arrows to accuracy. Then I
changed back to Flex-Fletch 187 fletches, I was glad I took the right path again and from
then on till these days no dealers can psyche me to use any other vanes except,
FLEX-FLETCH!"

"I
use Flex Fletch vanes because they outlast every other vane I have tested and have the
most consistent bases and physical weight from batch to batch. Flex Fletch vanes are
molded, not extruded and stamped to shape like most vanes. I seal each end of my
vanes with a drop of Flex Bond Glue."

"Yes
as a matter of fact I have found the vanes I was looking for. I ordered from Spot
Hogg and received them promptly. I commend you on the follow up, I
will say it is nice to see a company take the time to check in with customers to see if
they have found what they were looking for. Never had any one else that concerned to
follow up on their own. What can I say you have gained my respect and my business. Thank
you very much."

"I
and my daughter have used Flex-fletch with great success in competition applications. I
have done my own comparisons and we are convinced your vanes are, without a doubt the
best, hands down. Not just in endurance, they just seem to fly better. I enjoyed getting
the opportunity to stop buy your booth and spend some time with your staff at the Indoor
Nationals in KC this year. Thank you,"

(Response on
an archery forum)
"I work in a archery shop and all I do is
make arrows. The problem is that your nock is not set right
(if you
look down the arrow the bottom vane must run directly through the nock) and if this don't
help put some flex fletch vanes on. After being wrinkled they come back to their normal
shape for a good 600 shots or more."

"One make
of plastic vane stands out above all others. Flex Fletch vanes are by far the
toughest I have ever come across, and even if they are crumpled, they quickly recover. All
the other makes, including Arizona Plastifletch and Easton vanes (which are just
Plastifletch with a logo) are much more prone to tearing and perforation and don't recover
anywhere near as well."

"I
have been involved in target archery for the past eight years, being my club's secretary
for the past 5 of those. I have tried several makes of vanes over that period but
have always returned to and will now continue to use Flex-Fletch vanes exclusively.
All other vanes tend to be high on maintenance, but I have never had problems
with Flex-Fletch, apart from the occasional pass through where the vane has been split and
requires replacing, although I must add that if the vanes have been distorted due to the
pass though, over the next few shots they have return to normal, so much so that now I
don't even think about them I just drop them into the quiver and keep shooting."
